Cyclonic Studios - Graham Kaemmer

Windswept design and development by Graham Kaemmer

It all started in the summer before eighth grade. I had recently discovered Macromedia Flash MX installed on my school’s computers, and I wanted to learn how to make the flash games I played online. I got a book, Beginning Flash Game Programming for Dummies, which taught me the basics of Actionscript 2, the (now archaic) language for writing games in Flash. It was my entry point into the world of game development. Later that year, I took influence from people like Emanuele Feronato, the great flash tutorial writer, and wanted to make my own blog. I became engrossed in the world of PHP, HTML, Javascript, and other facets of web design. I made my own blog, complete with a database and an admin section, and wrote a few posts on flash game development.
At that point, I was under the pseudonym “Prograhamming,” which I seemed to think was clever at the time (it was a play on the word programming and my name, Graham). I had pumped out my first commercial flash game, Wires, and sold it to itch.com. Since then, I’ve been furthering my skills in game development and web design. I’ve changed my company name to Cyclonic Studios, a name I thought up in a science class freshman year. Since the beginning of last year, I’ve been working on freelance web development for clients who want simple sites with editable pages and content. I still make flash games in my free time. You can read about my work in my portfolio, or you can contact me if you’re interested in having me make you a website.
